Hello, everyone! Today I’m going to tell you about Christmas movies.
I’d like to start with "It’s a wonderful life"(1946). To tell the truth, I’m not a big fan of very old movies. However, to my surprise, I liked it! The story of the main character’s life is really inspiring because it helps you to understand that no one should give up because of difficulties, even if they seem insurmountable.
"You’ve really had a wonderful life. Don’t you see what a mistake it would be to just throw it away?"
At one point George Bailey stopped appreciating his wonderful family and friends and started thinking of commiting suicide because he got tired of facing problems and that’s why he thought that it was the only way to get rid of his depression. When his "guardian angel" showed him how the world would be different without him, he realized that his plan was such a terrible mistake because one’s life touches many lives so if he wasn’t born, a lot of people would have different fate. It made him remember all good things that ever happened to him and understand that his life wasn’t that bad. He finally realized that he shouldn’t have given up because there were so many reasons to live and that’s true because he at least had a family that was always ready to support him and cheer him up.
One more thing that I liked about that film was its cast. The actors were very talented and natural and that’s why it was a pleasure for me to watch the film!
As for my favorite Christmas film, I think it's "You've Got Mail"(1998). My sister and I always enjoy watching this film because of its interesting plot and talented actors. The movie is about two people, Kaitlyn Kelly and Joe Fox, that found each other in the Internet, started chatting and became really good friends. However, sometimes it's difficult for man and woman to be just friends so they fell in love with each other in spite of the fact that they didn't even know how each of them looked like. Was it coincidence or not, but they met in a real life because they lived in the same city and started to hate each other because Joe decided to open a big bookstore next to Kaitlyn's bookshop which was much smaller in size. Honestly, I can't choose one character that I like most because Kaitlyn and Joe made mistakes but then they both realized that they should've changed their mind about some things and they did it so we could watch their developments.
Also, I want to tell you a little bit about Russian films. There are not a lot of movies that I watched but some of them that I like are "A Grandfather for Christmas" and "Ivan Vasilievich: Back to the future". I would definetely recommend these films to an American friend because watching them can help him in studying Russian language as he can learn a lot of new useful phrases and discover many facts about the Russian because Russian culture is depicted very well in the movies. Besides, I'm sure that a foreigner will enjoy watching them because of funny jokes and cool actors:)
Thanks for your attention!😊
