Lucas always came across as a responsible, sharp as a tack person, who was acquainted with all the movers and shakers in his town. In spite of the fact that he was really smart, he wasn’t a know-it-all and that’s why many people liked dealing with him. However, there was a time in his life when he felt down in the dumps because of many debts. Sometimes it can be useful to know right people because they can help you succeed in life and Lucas understood that when his friend who was one of the best policemen in Weimar had offered him a job in a police precinct. Leon Thomas knew that Lucas was going through difficulties as he wasn’t himself so Leon told him to keep his chin up because he had a chance to start his life from scratch. At first, Lucas wanted to turn down such an attractive offer because he didn’t want his friend to think that he was a brown-noser but then Lucas had a change of heart because it was really difficult for him to make ends meet.

When Alison came to the police precinct, she ran into Olivia, Lucas’s boss, who was a real cold fish. She came off as a friendly person but she was as hard as nails so nobody wanted to talk over things that weren’t connected with job with her. The woman had a heart of stone and Alison thought that it wasn’t a good idea to ask her questions about Lucas so she just said hello to Olivia and asked one of Lucas’s co-workers if he had seen Leon. The man told Alison where he was and she went to Leon’s office and saw him sitting in the chair there.

“Hi, Leon!” said Alison.

“Hello, Alison! We haven’t seen each other for a long time. How’ve you been?” asked Leon.

“To tell the truth, I’m in a foul mood. I think something bad has happened to Lucas as he hasn’t called me for the whole week. That’s not like him!” said Alison.

“Alison, calm down, please. As I understand, you’re here to figure out if I know something about him. Well, I talked to Lucas a week ago, just like you, and we haven’t called each other since last Wednesday. I didn’t want to disturb him as he was doing his job in Berlin so I decided not to call him often. And he didn’t call me either, but I thought it was because he was busy as a bee,” explained Leon.

“But don’t you think that it’s strange that he didn’t have even 5 minutes to call his friends or family? This situation scares me stiff,” said Alison.

“I don’t want to scare you more but actually I noticed something strange when we were talking on the phone on Wednesday. When he was telling me the details of the investigation, someone came to him and whispered something to him but I wasn’t able to understand what exactly that person said. After that Lucas said that he had to go, and he hung up the phone,” told Leon.

“OMG, who that might me?” asked Alison.

“I have no idea but I heard the voice of a man, who is probably in his 50s,” said Leon.

“Are there any other things you remember? Please, tell me everything!” asked Alison.

“Let’s go to the café and I will tell you the other details there, ok? I know that it’s much more important to find out what has happened to Lucas but I’m really hungry, I could eat a horse!” said Leon.

“Okay, we can go to the nearest café, which name is Brotklappe,” said Alison.

“Oh, it’s a good idea, I have had my heart set on going there since last month,” said Leon.
